Event Description:
The 9th Annual Camp Merveilles will be held August 3,4,5,6,7 at the Avalon Ballroom in Boulder, CO. The camp, directed by Fara Tolno will feature local and international talent such as Marietou Camara and Fode Bangora. a minimum of 5 drum & 5 dance classes will be taught each day. Master Djembe Kan Fara Tolno
Fara Tolnowas born in Conakry, Guinea, West Africa. He spent his youth in the village of Kissidugu and
Guinea’s capital city, Conakry. He started playing djembe at the age of nine and is a master of the Djembe, Dounnoun and various other instruments including bellaphone and flute. Fara spent nine years as the lead drummer for Les Merveilles (The Marvelous) de Guinea under the tutelage of West Africa’s most influential director and choreographer, Kemoko Sano.

Funeral Services are being held today for Denver’s legendary story teller, Opalonga Pugh at 11:00 at Zion Baptist Church, 933 East 24th Street, Denver, CO 80205. We gather to bless her family and friends in this time of loss. We honor all that was, all that she is and becoming. A new ancestor rises to teach us.
